TeleForce (Work-in-progress)
We propose a prototype system of sharing users’ hand force in mixed reality remote collaboration and present a user study to understand the impact of sharing hand force on user’s perception. While users’ hand activity is considered as an important cue for remote collaboration, little has been studied about how much force the users exerts with their hands. The proposed sEMG-based prototype system measures and shares user’s hand activity and pilot study evaluating the correlation between hand activity and measured hand force. With our prototype system, we evaluated how providing hand force cue to collaborators influences their collaboration with three different visualization methods in two viewing conditions.
